Melissa Williams (she/her)
Melissa Williams (she/her)
Mel is an integrative physiotherapist and a co-owner of Zebras Australia.

Originally from the West, Mel has happily called Naarm her home for the last eight years. Mel has been practicing for almost twelve years and as a naturally curious person holds a number of post-graduate qualifications across a variety of health-related areas.

Mel is deeply interested in … her work at the intersection of the hypermobility spectrum, anxiety disorders and trauma.

Mel is passionate about … all things movement and embodiment, and her unique style is informed by physiotherapy, Pilates, Feldenkrais and tantric hatha yoga.

Mel is currently consulting … part time; from Monday to Friday, for individual integrative care sessions and both individual and group movement sessions.

Outside of Zebras, you’ll find Mel immersed in a book, exploring her own movement practices and hanging out with her whippet Girl.

Andrew Fitzgerald (he/him)
Andrew Fitzgerald (he/him)
Andrew is a musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist and a co-owner of Zebras Australia.

Born and raised in Melbourne, Andrew has had an interesting career in health care working across a number of environments from private practice to elite sports over the past eleven years.

Andrew is deeply interested in … understanding the human body, and was involved in the design of a specialised strength and conditioning protocol for hypermobility spectrum disorders during his Physiotherapy studies.

Andrew is passionate about … managing acute injuries, strength and conditioning and supporting those with more complex musculoskeletal issues.

Andrew is currently consulting … part-time; from Monday to Friday, for individual musculoskeletal physiotherapy sessions and both individual and group movement sessions.

Outside of Zebras, you’ll find Andrew at the gym, playing golf, ice hockey or spending time with his friends.

Irene Ais (she/her)
Irene Ais (she/her)
Irene Ais is an integrative and musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Zebras Australia.

Specialising in Yoga Therapy, Irene has spent fifteen years working across clinical practice, mental health, Yoga and Meditation making her a bridge for Western science and eastern wisdom traditions.

Irene is deeply interested in… working with the unique needs of pain, mental illness and trauma.

Irene is passionate about… supporting how we move, breathe, think and feel and empowering how we live.

Irene is currently consulting … part time; Wednesdays and Thursdays, for integrative consultations, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and individual and group movement sessions.

Outside of Zebras, you’ll find Irene climbing a rock, immersed in writing poetry or in nature with her hands in the dirt.

Maddie Hicks (she/her)
Maddie Hicks (she/her)
Maddie is an integrative and musculoskeletal physiotherapist at Zebras Australia.

Originally from the Northern Territory, Maddie has moved through SA to study and now happily settled in Melbourne. She has been teaching movement practices for some ten years and as a physiotherapist she has worked for a number of years in the performing arts space. Like the rest of our team, she is always curious to learn more and has completed further study in a range of health and education fields.

Maddie is deeply interested in … how the body stores memories and how movement can help to process this.

Maddie is passionate about … providing support and guidance for people living with invisible illnesses so that they may lead fulfilling lives.

Maddie is currently consulting … part time; Monday to Thursday for individual integrative and musculoskeletal physiotherapy sessions, as well as individual and group movement sessions.

Outside of Zebras, you’ll find Maddie consumed in whichever creative project she’s currently obsessed with (at present, basket weaving), listening to records or getting as much outdoor time as possible.

 Ashleigh Ormond (nee Mason - she/her)
Ashleigh Ormond (nee Mason - she/her)
Ashleigh is an integrative physiotherapist and mindset coach at Zebras Australia.

After experiencing chronic pain herself, Ashleigh went on a path of learning about pain and the nervous system, and now uses both her professional knowledge and personal experience to empower others on their own chronic pain journey through the use of therapeutic neuroscience education and mindful movement.
Ashleigh also has a special interest and training in Women’s Health physiotherapy, including pre and postnatal health, pelvic pain presentations, endometriosis, vaginismus and vulvodynia.

Ashleigh is deeply interested in… how poorly pain is traditionally managed in the medical world, and how treating the person as a whole becomes a game changer for those who experience it.

Ashleigh is passionate about… empowering individuals to love themselves and their bodies, unapologetically.

Ashleigh is currently consulting … part time; Tuesdays and Wednesdays for integrative and musculoskeletal physiotherapy sessions, as well as individual and group movement sessions.

Outside of Zebras you’ll find Ashleigh boxing or in a yoga class, sipping coffee in a cafe or snuggling her fur baby Nacho.

Emma Gibson (she/her)
Emma Gibson (she/her)
Emma is one of your friendly client experience officers at Zebras Australia.

Emma has lived in Australia her whole life, but has enjoyed a lot of travel across the world (especially to the UK!). Emma’s current focus is her new role at Zebra’s and finding a new routine.

Emma is deeply interested in … the rare and chronic illness community and how she can support people’s needs in an administrative role.

Emma is passionate about … rest and acknowledging the body’s needs in the moment.

Emma is currently working … part time Monday to Wednesday and Friday.

Outside of Zebras, you’ll find Emma doing some kind of Pilates routine, watching Youtube or Twitch Streamers, or spending time with her partner.

Claire Weiss (she/her)
Claire Weiss (she/her)
Claire is one of your friendly client experience officers at Zebras Australia.

Born and (mostly) raised in Melbourne, Claire is currently studying a degree in physiotherapy.

Claire is deeply interested in … getting to know our Zebras clients, having a chat, hearing about your day and seeing pictures of your pets.

Claire is passionate about … making our space as trauma-informed and comfortable as possible for all involved. If there’s anything I can do, please let me know!

Claire is currently working … part time; Monday to Thursday.

Outside of Zebras you’ll find Claire practicing ukelele and guitar, doing something arty, at the beach or in a rainforest somewhere.
